I would like to start by saying how much fun I've had this year, how many friends I've made, and how much I've learned. My favorite thing we've done this year was reading Romeo and Juliet, and later putting it on as a play and getting to perform as a specific character. It was fun to dissect the lines, and learning the Shakespeare language. I loved memorizing my lines and becoming my character, both inside and out. I learned to think and feel like a character in a specific book, but I could use that talent in any other texts I read in the future. I also liked reading "Am I Blue?" with the class, and learning some more about discrimination and accepting people the way they are.
In high school, I hope I become an even stronger reader and writer. I would like to read a few more Shakespeare plays, and see how they compare to Romeo and Juliet, as well as modern day books. More nonfiction and classic books are also on my to-read list. In terms of writing, I would like to get better at writing essays, for I feel like I am not strong enough with using evidence. I would also like to improve in writing poetry. Though I am very proud of the work I have done, I think I have a long way to go before Ii can say that my work is amazing or the best. I have learned a lot, but still have much more to learn.
